Choosing A Hardness (85A, 95A or 75D?)
Below, we explain which applications each polyurethane hardness (durometer) is generally best for. The hardness of BMW OEM bushings is usually around 55A. The softest durometer we offer is our medium 85A (OEM+), followed by our medium-hard 95A (Performance/Drift) and our rock-solid 75D (Race). If you need further help determining which hardness is right for you and your build, please contact us.
- NOTE: Hardness alone is not an indicator of either the quality or the performance capability of a part, and should not be relied upon as a specification by itself. There are many compounds with very different quality and performance characteristics that can be produced at the same durometer. So, even though AKG bushings may have the same relative hardness as those sold elsewhere, the chemical structure of the raw materials and the manufacturing process is completely different. The quality of our polyurethane is so much better than anything else available, you can actually see and feel the difference for yourself!
85A (Medium Compound) | OEM+
If you have a predominantly street driven car (with minor performance modifications) and are looking for that OEM+ feeling, then our medium 85A durometer is for you.
Whether your stock bushings are in need of replacement or you’re just ready for a slight upgrade, 85A hardness is a good choice. Our 85A compound is engineered to retain a comfortable ride with slightly improved performance over the stock bushings. They are designed to be stronger and last longer than factory OEM bushings, and come with a lifetime warranty.
The NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) increase is minimal (everyone’s perception of NVH is different and this is only a guide).
95A (Medium-Hard Compound) | Performance & Drift
If you have a more performance-focused “dual-duty” track or drift build that still sees street use and are looking for a considerable increase in performance, then our medium-hard 95A durometer is for you.
Whether you’re looking to achieve faster laps at the track or more precise angle stability while drifting, 95A hardness is a good choice. Our 95A compound is engineered to deliver a significant increase in performance over stock by drastically decreasing deflection (movement) - while at the same time providing as much of a comfortable ride as possible during normal driving. They are designed to be stronger and last longer than factory OEM bushings, and come with a lifetime warranty.
The NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) increase is minimal to moderate (everyone’s perception of NVH is different and this is only a guide).
75D (Hard Compound) | Race & High Horsepower
If you have a purpose-built race or drift car, and are looking for the maximum possible performance available, then our rock-hard, race-proven 75D compound is for you. This is also the proper compound for high-horsepower and/or big-grip cars.
For those that want to eliminate the movement (deflection) that occurs with the stock bushings to maintain precise suspension geometry for exceptional handling and responsiveness - and you aren’t concerned with any increase in NVH, 75D hardness is a good choice. Our 75D compound is specifically engineered to be the strongest and most durable non-metallic compound available. It is the best option for race classes where metal bushings are not allowed, or for those who do not wish to deal with the issues that can arise when using metal bushings.
Our U.S. Military Spec 75D compound is as hard as a bowling ball, yet has elasticity and memory. This exclusive compound allows us to manufacture a bushing that provides virtually the same performance as a metal bushing, but which isn't harsh on the chassis like metal bushings are. Likewise, its elasticity and memory means they are also free from deformation which cheap plastic bushings (Delrin/UHMW) are very prone to. They are the strongest and longest lasting non-metallic bushings available and come with a lifetime warranty.
The NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) increase is moderate to high (everyone’s perception of NVH is different and this is only a guide).

Product Description
Replacing your old, worn out diff bushings with our poly BMW E10 2002 (02') diff bushings will substantially reduce differential movement (deflection) for noticeably improved performance and power transfer to the wheels. Depending on which hardness option you choose, you can achieve anything from a track or drift capable street build to the performance of a purpose-built race car.
The ability of your car to transmit power to the wheels is directly linked to the E10 (02') rear diff bushings. The stock rubber bushings deflect (move/twist) as torque moves through the drivetrain and you will even start to hear audible clunking when they fail, leaving you with a loose differential and the real possibility of further damage soon after. The OEM rubber is great for comfort and noise reduction, but not great for performance or longevity.
So we designed the original polyurethane BMW 2002 diff bushings.
Our unique polyurethane E10 02' diff bushings replace the factory bushings with ones that prevents your diff from moving around. This improves the car's ability to transmit torque through the drivetrain to the rear wheels, improving both performance and throttle-pedal feeling. Whether you’re building for canyon roads, drifting or racing our E10 2002 diff bushings are the longest lasting, highest performing bushings on the market.
NOTE: The material used for the diff bushings must be compatible with the material used for the subframe bushings. Why is this?
