BMW Performance Trans Mounts - E30, E36, E46, E82/E90/E92, Z3/Z4

Below, we explain which applications each polyurethane hardness (durometer) is generally best for. The hardness of BMW OEM mounts is usually around 55A. The softest durometer we offer is our medium 70A/80A (OEM+), followed by our medium-hard 95A (Performance/Drift) and our rock-solid 75D (Race/High HP). • NOTE: Hardness alone is not an indicator of either the quality or the performance capability of a part, and should not be relied upon as a specification by itself. There are many compounds with very different quality and performance characteristics that can be produced at the same hardness. So, even though AKG mounts may have the same relative hardness as those sold elsewhere, the chemical structure of the raw materials and the manufacturing process is completely different. The quality of our polyurethane is so much better than anything else available, you can actually see and feel the difference for yourself!

70A/80A (Medium Compound) | OEM+
If you have a predominantly street driven car (with minor performance modifications) and are looking for that OEM+ feeling, then our medium 70A (or 80A) durometer is for you. 

Whether your stock mounts are in need of replacement or you’re just ready for a slight upgrade, our medium hardness is a good choice. Our medium compounds are engineered to retain a comfortable ride with improved performance over the stock mounts. They are designed to be stronger and last longer than factory OEM mounts, and come with a lifetime warranty.

The NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) increase is minimal (everyone’s perception of NVH is different and this is only a guide).

95A (Medium-Hard Compound) | Performance & Drift
If you have a more performance-focused “dual-duty” track or drift build that still sees street use and are looking for a considerable increase in performance, then our medium-hard 95A durometer is for you. 

If you’re looking to limit drivetrain movement for increased responsiveness and more effective power transfer through the drivetrain, then our 95A hardness is a good choice. Our 95A compound is engineered to deliver a significant increase in performance over stock by substantially decreasing deflection (movement) - while at the same time providing as much of a comfortable ride as possible during normal driving. They are designed to be stronger and last longer than factory OEM mounts, and come with a lifetime warranty.

75D (Hard Compound) | Race & High Horsepower
If you have a purpose-built race or drift car, and are looking for the maximum possible performance available, then our rock-hard, race-proven 75D compound is for you. This is also the proper compound for high-horsepower and/or big-grip cars. 

If you want to eliminate the movement that occurs within the drivetrain for precise responsiveness and power transfer - and you aren’t concerned with any increase in NVH, then our 75D hardness is a good choice. Our 75D compound is specifically engineered to be the strongest and most durable non-metallic compound available. It is the best option for race classes where metal mounts are not allowed, or for those who do not wish to deal with the issues that can arise when using aluminum mounts.

Our U.S. Military Spec 75D compound is as hard as a bowling ball, yet has elasticity and memory. This exclusive compound allows us to manufacture a mount that provides virtually the same performance as a metal mount, but which isn't harsh on the chassis like aluminum mounts are. Likewise, its elasticity and memory means they are also free from deformation which cheap plastic mounts (Delrin/UHMW) are very prone to. They are the strongest and longest lasting non-metallic mounts available and come with a lifetime warranty.

These BMW E30, E36, E46, E82, E90, E92, Z3, Z4 performance trans mounts will greatly reduce movement of the transmission under load – improving both shifting and power transfer through the drivetrain. The stock trans mounts deflect as torque moves through the drivetrain, allowing the motor and transmission assembly to move. 

Our performance BMW trans mounts are made of a harder oversized rubber bushing and utilize stronger bolts than the factory mounts. We then couple them with our precision CNC’d aluminum trans cups to prevent side-to-side movement – yielding an excellent performance trans mount set that doesn’t significantly increase NVH. 

These E30, E36, E46, E82, E90, E92, Z3, Z4 trans mounts are our performance-spec mounts (as opposed to our race-spec 75D compound). They are designed for those who want a noticeable increase in performance out of their vehicle, but would still like to retain as much of a comfortable ride as possible (such as with a daily driver).

NOTE: These BMW trans mounts may be paired with either OEM engine mounts, or our polyurethane motor mounts.

NOTE: The mounting holes must be drilled out by approximately 1mm to fit the larger bolts that these mounts use.
